Researchers have claimed that wearing compression stockings may help people cope with common sleep disorders. Found, by wearing thigh-high stockings for a week, would reduce the problem of sleep by a third.
Especially for patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is often awakened at night causing trouble in daylight, such as excessive drowsiness. Most people with sleep apnea also snore. They often have to fight the fatigue as a result of a sleep disorder making it difficult to sleep.

In a recent study at the University of Brescia, Italy, used full-length compression stockings stocking the type that is used to prevent venous thrombosis to regulate the flow of blood through the legs.
“We found that in patients with chronic venous insufficiency, compression stockings reduce the accumulation of fluid in the legs during the day thus reducing the amount of fluid that flows into the neck at night. It reduces snoring apnea caused by a third,” said Dr. Stefania Redolfi, as quoted by the Daily Mail. This study has been published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in August 2011 issue.
